Make a mythic ascent via the Marangu route

 

Type: Trekking.

Duration: 8 Days/7 nights of 2 in pre- and post-climbing.

Condition: Be used to trekking at high altitudes.

Possibilities to extend your tour by a safari or a stay at Zanzibar.

 

Day 1: Arusha.

Meet your guide at your arrival at airport Kilimanjaro airport, transfer to your lodge to spend the night there. Free dinner.

Day 2: Arusha Mandara (2700m).

Departure from Arusha for a transfer to the gate (1800m) where the first ascent (5h) begins, during which you will cross plantations of coffee and tea in an equatorial forest before reaching the shelter.

Dinner and night at the Mandara Hut (or equivalent).

Day 3: Horombo (3720m).

Departure to reach Horombo through magnificent trails. 7 hours of climbing.

Day 4: Horombo (3720m)

Day of acclimatization to the altitude and walk to explore the Zebra Rocks.

Day 5: Kibo (4826m).

Trek of 10km in 7h of walk to reach Kibo: you approach the grail!

Dinner and night at the Kibo Hut (or equivalent).

Day 6: Uhuru Peak (5896m)

Departure at 1 am! First climb to reach Steela point (5735m) after 6h walk with a breakfast en route. And finally, one last hour to reach Uhuru (5896m) the roof of Africa: Kilimanjaro!

Descent to reach the refuge.

Dinner and night at Horombo Hut (or equivalent)

Day 7: Descente vers Arusha.

5h of relaxing walk to join the gate where you will be waiting for your vehicle which will take you to your lodge for a well, well, well deserved rest.

Day 8: Arusha.

Free day in Arusha before transfer to the airport or departure for an extension (safari or Zanzibar).

Lunch at Shanga if end of trip.
